Whilst I was still in Kuching, I took the opportunity to explore the place even further. This trip, I headed over to the Gunung Gading National Park which was located in Lundu, around an hour plus journey from Kuching. Being overlooked most of the time, Gunung Gading is a great place to go for those who love the outdoors. I made my way here on a Saturday morning with my family. The national park can be a little bit hard to find as the signboards leading to it is kinda small and hidden away. After driving uphill for about 10 minutes we arrived at the entrance of the park. W e started our journey, after handing over our numbers to the park ranger. Entrance of the park The park's HQ The Gunung Gading National Park is opened daily from 8am to 5pm. Entrance fees are RM10 for locals and RM20 for foreigners. The park is not only known for the world's largest flower, Rafflesia, but also for its scenic waterfalls and wildlife. Handy tips for backpacking

Most of the time people come up to me, asking how I make do travelling around all the time. And since I'm still studying, my budget can be tight at times. In today's post, I'll be sharing a few tips and advices about travelling on a low budget. Many thanks to a friend of mine KC Owens for sharing his article about travelling on low budget. Seeing the World on Very Little Money People often say that college is the best time a person can ever have in their lifetime. The truth is that it is kind of hard to believe that when your best friends from high school are drifting away, you are working a new job while going to school full time and finals are breathing down your neck! With all these stresses, college can seem slightly less exciting. Personally, I take my summer breaks away from home and let loose. Seeing the world, as a college student, is more possible than you may have imagined, so think about what you can do to make it happen. Funding Yourse

Hey there! I'm back here in Kuching once again taking a break from the hectic training here in Terengganu. This time around, I headed for the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre which is a fourty five minute drive from Kuching. Together with a few of my friends, Faris and Xavier we started our journey early that morning. Semenggoh Wildlife Centre The Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is home to the orang utans, which are only found in the rainforest of the Malaysian Borneo (Sarawak and Sabah), Indonesian Borneo (Kalimantan) and North Sumatera. Orang utans is one of the world's largest primates and is considered to be the most intelligent primate species on earth. The word 'orang' in Malay is 'person' whilst 'utan' comes from 'hutan' meaning forest. Thus, orang utan is translated literally as 'person of the forest'. For those who are interested, there's a short clip below here just to give you an idea of how orang utans are.  Upon arri

Its been almost a week now since I've been staying in Terengganu. I was detached to the Terengganu base for a few months to complete my course. While I was here, my friends and I went exploring around town.  Hidden in a narrow lane, somewhere in Chinatown is the Turtle Alley. The entrance into Chinatown The Turtle Alley signboard My friends and I were strolling along Chinatown when one of us suddenly spotted the Turtle Alley. The Turtle Alley is just an ordinary alley which has been beautified and surrounded by artworks made of tiles. Launched in 2011, the main objective of the Turtle Alley was to shine the light on the endangered turtle species which often nest at the beaches of Terengganu.  The passageway of  Turtle Alley Mosaic tiles laid out on the walls The walls of the alley is filled with turtle mosaics and also metallic plates of the 'Little Turtle Messenger'.
